SEASONAL WORKSHOPS

Join us for an evening of flower arranging at our shop in Chelsea. You will learn how to choose, condition, and arrange flowers while immersing yourself in nature and beauty. The evening is structured for you to get creative, relax, and have fun, all while learning tips and tricks about seasonal blooms and different techniques on how to arrange them. All experience levels are welcome.

Classes are inspired by a seasonal story, begin promptly at 6:30pm, and run about two hours. We will round out the evening with snacks and sips while we create together!

Holiday Special | December 10th: Get into the holiday spirit with our final class of the year that will focus on having a more festive flair! Come create vase-less centerpieces for your holiday tables that incorporate taper candles into the arrangements - you will make your beautiful creations during this fun night so that all you will have to do is light the candles for your holiday table! We will work with a mix of lasting elements including pine and evergreen varieties, berries, amaryllis, calla lilies, brunia, rose varieties, pinecones and dried orange slices.

2025 SEASONAL WORKSHOPS

Winter | January 7th: Get your hands on the first of those peonies and winter beautiful blossoms. We will work in elongated, rustic boxes, practicing the tape gridding method and work with blooms such as the peony of course! ranunculus, anemones, narcissus, orchids, clematis, dusty miller, and eucalyptus varieties.

Spring | April 8th: Create our signature Flower Girl style 'seasonal, sweet and a little bit sexy, with an edge' using mixed greenery and fragrant Spring blooms. We will dive into the intoxicating scents and sights of what the Spring season has to offer using blooms such as lilac, hyacinth, tulip varieties, fritillaries, clematis and sweet peas, accent greens and blossoming branches. This is an especially good class for beginners!

Summer | July 8th: Arrange a lush wildflower hand tie incorporating Summer's beautiful bounty! Arranging in your hand can be trickier than you think, however this is a good skill to have especially if you are working towards crafting wedding bouquet making in the future or if you are a Summer flower forager. We will use flowers and greenery such as hydrangea, veronica, astilbe, amaranthus, garden roses, pampas grass, wheat, ivy, fern varieties and eucalyptus.

Autumn | October 7th: Embrace the jewel tones of the fall season and create a more traditional centerpiece that feels just as rich. We will work in footed vessels, creating a grid naturally with the greenery and the blooms themselves. Plan to work with ethereal blooms such as dahlias, astilbe, cockscomb, thistle, calla lilies, various fall foliage and berries.

Walk to Workshop

Immerse yourself in nature and beauty with a day full of flowers in New York City inspired - two opportunities in 2025 to partake, April 16th or October 15th - pick your season, Spring or Autumn! This mashup of our Market Walk and Seasonal Workshop is the perfect “how to” for any flower lover – with or without experience! The Flower Girl team will lead you on a stroll through the city's iconic Flower Market where you will get a glimpse into how to navigate the shops, learn what and where to buy, and even choose the blooms that inspire your inner florist. After a light brunch at our Chelsea based shop, we will guide you through the journey of creating your own flower masterpiece by instructing you on how to condition, and arrange your blooms, as well as how to get the most life out of your arrangement.

You’ll get to take home your finished product! And, to ensure that this day is one you will never forget, and we will have a professional photographer on site to document your creation (you will receive a copy of the photo)! The day will begin at 9:30 am and will last until about 2:30 pm.

FLOWER MARKET WALKS

Embark on a fun and informative walk in the bustling NYC Flower Market with the Flower Girl team! Get a glimpse into how to navigate the shops, learn what and where to buy, and explore some of Flower Girl's favorite spots that we've shopped at for the past 18+ years for beautiful blooms and supplies. The morning will end with some light bites at a nearby location. Market Walks begin at 9:30am and last around two and a half hours.
